The main differences between the 3 version:
The Bivy-Poncho is extremely durable and waterproof but also makes it the heaviest of the three. It comes with a 5 year warranty.
The Bivy-Poncho Extreme and Bivy-Poncho UL have identical weights, but the UL version comes with factory taped seams for long lasting waterproofness yet less durable lighter fabric resulting in a shorter warranty time of "only" 2 years.
The Bivy-Poncho Extreme on the other hand is ultra tearproof and durable but less waterproof due to the untaped seams yet features cotton wrap - polyester core thread that expands when wet to seal the seams. This is an established method of sealing seams, yet wet storage can lead to degradation of the cotton in the thread which then makes waterproofing with a seamsealer necessary.

> Small packaging: integrated chest pocket forms a stuff sack. Waist cord doubles as shoulder strap.
> Support the closed hood with a pole to form a simple pyramid shelter.
> Multi-use: Use as a rain collector, 1st aid stretcher, sail, vestibule wing, and even as a hammock when it has been secured.
> Bivy-Poncho seams are double stitched and fully taped.
> Extreme‘s seams are sewn with polyester core - cotton mantle thread. When wet, the thread expands to plug holes. A special seam tunnel (pat. pend.) keeps the holes shut, even under strain.
> Adjustable waist cord secures Bivy-Poncho in all weather and is used to carry the packed poncho.
> Carefully positioned snaps allow for universal sizing, even while wearing a pack. Extreme features light OmniGrip velcro strips (integrated hook and loop).
> Double-sided ‘snap buttons’ or Velcro strips ensure a close, comfortable fit.
> Multiple uses: tarp - numerous web loops and fixed grommets permit securing of Bivy-Poncho into a variety of shapes.
> Large, waterproof, inner pocket functions as Bivy-Poncho’s storage sack.
> Anatomic hood, with laminated brim and single pull cinch-cord, permits unrestricted movement for full visibility and great comfort.
